In today’s online world I wonder how some businesses can operate with no web presence or with poor excuses for one. Take the Aragon Ballroom for example – its domain is http://www.aragon.com/ but if you look closely its really hosted somewhere else. Why?

Pre SES Chicago 2007

Just saw an email from SearchEngineWatch that had a post by Greg Jarboe and must say it was quite good. Its 20,000 Reasons to Attend SES Chicago and that 20,000 is in $20,000 reasons. He does a good job of setting it up so that people can “sell” their boss on sending them to the conference. There is one fault with his “sell” however.

OpenSocial opening the flood gates on Facebook

Just saw the news that a ever growing list of social sites of various types are joining Google and its OpenSocial idea. As of now the list includes Bebo, Engage.com, Friendster, hi5, Hyves, imeem, LinkedIn, Ning, Oracle, orkut, Plaxo, Salesforce.com, Six Apart, Tianji, Viadeo, and XING.
