Brightcove Network Service is Closing

So I dont think it was 30 minutes that I hit publish and I received an email from another video service shutting down. On December 17, 2008 Brightcove will be shutting down its free Brightcove Network Service. Brightcove is not shutting down completely, they seem to just be shutting down the free service and forcing those that wish to continue to upgrade to Brightcove 3. Brightcove 3 is a major…

Yahoo Live Shutting Down

Back in March I was able to watch the Winter Music Conference shake its groove thing at night thanks to Yahoo Live.  It seems that Y! Live will be shutting down on December 3, 2008. Earlier this week I read about Revver having financial issues, but the Founder answered the rumor and stated that they were simply migrating to a different and better provider. I personally dont believe  him, but…

Twitter WordPress Plugin

For a long time I have heard good things about twitterfeed but much like graywolf I hate to use 3rd party applications that ask for my username and password. So what else could I do but go on a hunt for a Twitter WordPress plugin? I did a seach on WordPress for “twitter” and found some possible options but only 2 really stood out as probables: Twitpress by Tom Purnell…

TweetDeck Review

Another day, another Twitter Application. TweetDeck is built much like Twirl in that it is build on the Adobe Air platform, but little else appears to be the same. TweetDeck has all of the same options you can get in the web version of Twitter, or in applications such as Twirl, Twitterfox, or a Twitterlicious. You can Re-tweet, Direct Message, and Reply to anyone of your friends. It is missing…

Web 2.0 Sucks

Yes I said it. – start rant – Why you ask? If a site requires a user to visit it…. and you cant. It sucks. If a website screws up your order what do you do? You shop somewhere else. If you click to read a review and you get an error what do you do? You hit the back button. So why do we put up with it? Perhaps…

Skitch meet Twitter, Twitter meet Skitch

It seems the folks over at Plasq have been busy. Just tonight they added My Twitter to Skitch.com. The only problem is that Skitch is still only available for Macs. *cough cough – Brian – cough cough* Now I have been told us non Mac users will have it one day, and until then I will just be jealous. So what is Skitch? Who is Plasq? Go check them out….

Twitter adds reply to functionality

As I use Twitter more and more I have been talking to more and more people. The only problem is that when you are using the web interface you must type the person’s name in constantly. I often times have used Twitter’s site to go back to what I have missed but then used TwitterFox to reply. I can hit a small arrow within TwitterFox and quickly get a name…

Seesmic Initial Thoughts

Well I logged into my email tonight and found a Seesmic invitation code. I have put my initial thoughts down here and will follow with a better and more in depth review in the coming weeks hopefully. Register section is all flash and doesnt seem to let me copy and paste my invitation code. Quite annoying. Why do services make you register and then login? Are you just checking? If…

T Mobile shuts down Twitter Service

It seems that users of T-Mobile are having issues with sending text messages to Twitter. There are reports from Alternageek , CNET, and more at Getsatisfaction with Biz Stone commenting.  It is as if T-Mobile has blocked or shut down service to users trying to send messages to the Twitter.  Nothing like getting “unlimited” texting only to have the service you use it for get blocked.
