MSN Local Listings Updated
I was doing some testing and research on MSN this morning and saw something unusual. It seems that in the past few days a new listing type has appeared within the SERPs. For the example below I have added the City name but even if you do it without it does a very good job and finding locations just down the street.
What I found interesting about the “Local” results was how it gave you very relevant local results but the “Narrow your search” options were way off. The above image does not give a real good example of this but if you just do a search without typing in a city name you will see what I mean.
I also did some more digging and found that they show images (I dont really use MSN often so this may be super old):
My last find was something similar to what Google offers at the bottom of the page but here they show it at the top. If you do a search for “lasik” you will get some “Health Results” links that help you drill deeper into a given topic.
As I dont use MSN on a daily basis I admit that some of these features could be old. So I ask, are the above features new to everyone or have I just not seen them in the past?
